Beatrice Low

Co-Founder

Beatrice Low is a senior at Greenwich Academy in Greenwich, Connecticut aiming to make a meaningful impact on the community through social entrepreneurship.

      In 2020, she founded BeHASSTic, a non-profit organization that fosters curiosity in HASST (Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Technology), nurtures exceptional global citizens, increases access to equitable educational opportunities, and bridges the gender gap for students worldwide. She oversees daily operations, recruiting and training over 120 volunteers, impacting over 3,800 students, and developing partnerships with notable organizations such as the Carver Foundation and Girls Who Code. In 2022, she worked with Professor Rebecca Totton at Amherst College to research how attending all-girls versus co-ed schools impacts the likelihood of female students pursuing STEM careers. From 2022-2023, she held an internship position with Congressman Jim Himes and as a part of the School Participatory Action Research Collaborative, she explored issues that impact her school and local communities and brainstormed solutions, presenting her findings at the annual SPARC conference at the University of Pennsylvania.

      Ms. Low’s awards and honors include a two-time AIME qualifier, an MIT Math Prize for Girls invitee, USA Computer Olympiad (USACO) Silver Division, Connecticut Winner of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing, winner of the STEM research project award at the VEX IQ World Championships, and the first female and youngest ever inductee into the Connecticut Chess Hall of Fame. She has also served as assistant principal in the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra and regularly performs in the community and at local senior centers. Ms. Low's research interest includes the impact of artificial intelligence on DEI, economics, and public policy.
